Synclo: Connected OPD Care

Two years as the solo designer behind a connected OPD-care suite. Four end-to-end products, two companion mobile apps, and three multi-specialty hospitals onboarded. The shipped work and the half-successes both taught me how to design for clinical density.

A note on the name

Originally Detrix; pivoted from Web3 to Healthcare under the Synclo brand in November 2022 after the broader Web3 funding environment cratered. This page covers the Healthcare phase.

Synclo: Connected OPD Care hero

I joined Detrix as an intern in early 2021 and became fulltime within ~6 months. I was the only designer on the team. Pre-November 2022 the company was building a Web3 music platform; after the FTX collapse, the company pivoted to Healthcare and rebranded as Synclo. The Healthcare phase ran roughly through 2023, and is what this page is about.

Designing end-to-end as a solo designer across a six-product suite, across iPad, iOS, Android, Windows, and web, taught me to design for density, multilingual users, and clinical workflows where the cost of a confusing screen is doctor time, not a churn metric.

QMS for Doctors

iPad · Hero product

QMS is a Queue Management System for OPD doctors. The brief was simple to state and hard to ship: help doctors move through a full OPD day without losing context between patients. The headline features were AI predictive diagnostics, an integrated e-prescription module, and a modern, clean visual language for what is usually a dense administrative screen.

Projected impact

Would have reduced consultation time by ~10%: average 30-min consultations down to ~20 mins. That is roughly 5 hours of daily time saved per doctor.

He's been fantastic. Rahul's designs are always creative and user-friendly. He makes complex things simple and always delivers high-quality work. Rahul is great at documenting designs and communicating between teams.

Mobile app for Doctors

iOS · Android

At the first QMS demo we secured 2–3 multi-specialty hospitals to test-run the product. During the first test we shipped mobile apps for both doctors and patients to have oversight of the full consultation flow. Ankura Hospitals was one of the major hospitals we onboarded.

Suite for Complete Care

6 products

QMS was the hero. The full suite was six connected products covering the patient journey from check-in through lab work, each one designed for a specific platform that matched where its user actually was.

2021 – 2023

Two years as the only designer on a team that became something closer to family. Some of these people are still vouching for me, including Vinay above. That part of the story doesn't fit on a resume but it's the part I think about when I think about Synclo.
